HELP RADIO ELLENBROOK

April 22nd, 2010

MEDIA RELEASE

RADIO ELLENBROOK 88FM APPEALS FOR HELP

DATE: 20 April 2010.

The Australian Communications and Media Authority have decided to allocate a new full-power FM frequency in the Perth area.

But if the planned allocation proceeds as proposed in the draft document released this month, there will be NO NEW COMMUNITY RADIO LICENSES IN THE GREATER PERTH METRO AREA.

This could mean that Radio Ellenbrook could not aspire to greater things if the high-power license is issued in the suggested format.

It would also mean that a better Radio Ellenbrook would not be possible because we could not upgrade our existing low-power license and if our current 88 FM license expires in 2013, as it may well do under the present rules, it could mean the end of Radio Ellenbrook forever!

It’s time for action by our sponsors, supporters and friends to make a stand for change, for a better tomorrow, for a bigger and bolder radio station covering the Swan Valley.

Contact the station NOW on 9297 1088 or email radioellenbrook88@bigpond.com and ask for the ACMA submissions kit. The closing date for public submissions commenting on ACMA proposal is April 30 at 5 PM.

Please contact us URGENTLY and help us to save your community radio station.
