Just Local

I’m no heroJust Local was privileged to be invited to the launch of Dave Wallis’ first book “I’m no hero but I can save your kids life”, last night at The Vines Resort. The room was filled with devoted family and friends who quite frankly couldn’t believe half the things ‘their mate’ had been been involved in throughout his life. We heard stories ranging from how Dave ran in THREE London marathons(huge achievement) to his memories of 20 years as a Paramedic having to leave dying patients to attend to those who stood a chance. I think Dave was overcome with emotion that people had turned up just to support him and his new venture. The grand finale was Dave’s daughter, who had been busting to speak all night, went to the microphone and told us that ‘Dad has been working lots on the computer lately, he is the best Dad to us, the best husband to Mum and I love him so much’. This was of course met with loud applause and left Dave with a tear in his eye. All in all it was a great event and I think Dave deserves to be celebrated for his bravery in telling us what does happen behind the flashing blue lights of the ambulance.
